about us

light on path

At Light on Path, we place our main emphasis on integration of perspectives from many fields and on the collaboration of specialists from many disciplines in order to maximize the developmental potential of infants and young children by working in close and constant collaboration with families and all caregivers involved in the lives of our little clients. It is the family’s goals and visions for their child that are at the core of our assessments and treatment approach. It is the family dynamics including the interaction with siblings, extended family, childcare, as well as the cultural, socio-economic, educational backgrounds of the family unit that fundamentally dictate our approach to intervention and staffing considerations and we all work together to increase the chances for children with any level and degree of developmental needs to bring them up to their fullest potential within their natural cultural environment.

We empower and advocate for our clients, working actively in partnership with the Regional Center, school districts, and medical professionals in support of the families as active participants and ultimate decision-makers for their children. We support our local communities by providing continuous family education and facilitating outreach to community-based resources, educational opportunities, support groups, relevant clinical and medical resources, diagnosis- and need-specific workshops and conferences. We assist with medical referrals, as well as reach out to those resources ourselves in order to lift community awareness of the existing needs of consumers and connecting resources with families. We look for each child’s and family’s strengths in creating dynamic, constantly evolving, effective play-based intervention services.
